Is 2 viewings enough

We are at the point of having had two viewings of our house and are now waiting to see if the potential buyers will give us an offer on our house.  It’s so frustrating waiting to hear and not knowing what people are thinking.  If we could influence their decision making we would, but obviously that isn’t possible.

It’s funny because when we’ve ever looked for a house we’ve always known which home we prefer by the second viewing and I cannot understand for the life of me why it has now got to the point that the people have two other homes that they’ve checked out too.  One of the homes for sale is in Fall River and the other house for sale is in Bedford, Nova Scotia.  Talk about make it difficult to make the choice between the three homes.  Unfortunately ours is the most expensive, but it does have the biggest piece of land and has been better updated.

Now it’s a waiting game!

The Stress of waiting to move home

The stress of waiting to get a call from your realtor to say the words you want to hear that someone wants to view your home and ultimately then wants to give you an offer seems so remote at this point.  We’ve had our house up for sale since March this year and we’ve only had a handful of prospective buyers come through our door.  We’d been advised by our realtor that our home would most probably sell reasonably quickly, but obviously we haven’t been that lucky.  I’m sure that it’s something to do with the economy here in Nova Scotia, but the stress isn’t eased by this.

We have a lovely home, but our daughters moved out earlier this year and it seems extremely empty without them.  The truth is that the house is far too big for two people.  Plus we really want to follow our oldest daughter to BC.  She lives in Vancouver, but we have our hearts set on moving to Penticton, BC.

We decided to keep our house on the market over the winter season because there aren’t as many houses for sale in Halifax during this time, so if anyone is looking to move we might be lucky if they choose us.  That’s what we hope anyway.

We have already decided on our long distance moving company who we already do business for.  We may need a storage company too if we decided to rent a furnished property.  We have looked into the option of self storage in Halifax which isn’t a bad idea because we could get our stuff moved over later on.
